Seems like more often now I am seeing a space on the credit card signature slip for a tip, even though the restaurant is a wait in line, get your food yourself, eat it, and dump the tray type of place. Seems like more places are phishing for tips these days.

You do not tip,the only service they are providing is preparing your sandwich, which you are paying for anyway. On that signature line you should write a zero and draw a line through it to show there is no tip included.Alot of places do phish for tips but if they dont do anything special for you i would not give them one its just like giving someone free money for nothing.Hope this helps.

Personally, I do not tip, if I am picking up the order. If there is a line for a tip on the credit card slip, I either circle the origanal amount or draw a line through the tip part, re write the total than sign it. I do not want anyone trying to alter the charge slip. They are no delivering it to us, they are not wawiting on us, I do not feel when we order at a counter we need to tip. I am a very good tipper in the correct circumstances, I understand how hard waiters/waitresses have it, but serving at a counter is not the same.

No. At a fast food restaurant, you are not required to, or even suggested to, leave a tip. If you feel that your cashier had EXTREME customer service, and deserves an extra buck, than give it to them in cash. They may have a tip jar somewhere if you look around.
If you add it to the receipt, the credit card company gets a large percentage of it, and the business (not the cashier) will get the rest (since there is no way to determine who made the sale, like there is at sit-down restaurants).

The majority of the time, though, fast food restaurant receipts will not have a tip line on them, though, so you won't have to worry.

Just because it is a CC. slip, dosen't mean you have to tip. That is like asking do you tip at McDonalds? Or when you get you oil changed? At a restaurant that has waiters and waitresses and bus staff, they rely very heavily on tips as part of their livelihood. Subway dosen't. Personally, I don't know about you, but I am getting kind of tired of tipping EVERYONE I run across!! Ask the person in Subway, where the tip goes when you put one on the CC. slip. I personally think the tip jars are more appropriate. Alot of bars are even still using them. I am a good tipper in a nice restaurant and leave money in tip jars but I feel like there has to be a happy medium somewhere.

I manage a subway and we are not supposed to solicit tips from anyone. So the answer to your question is no you do not enter a tip on the credit card slip. I believe it is the credit card companies that create what appears on there slips such as tip lines etc. not the fast food establishment.

If you feel they went above and beyond, by all means tip them. However, I would suggest that if you werent going to tip them, to mark thru the space where the tip would go. Some POS (point of sale) systems automatically print a signature slip with space for a tip. That doesnt mean they are asking for a tip.

There is no reason to tip for these type of services. I believe strongly in tipping but not for these type of places. These businesses are paying such crappy wages that employees are looking for any extra income possible. I've noticed the tip section just about at every restaurant of every type. I only tip if I am sitting, being waited on and being served.

No, places like these are taking tipping way too seriously, They are not a restaurant. IF places like Subway, and McDonalds and DQ startings having tipping jars. People will not want to go out at all. Tipping is getting highly overrated. Worker's should be nice to customer's not to get tip's but to get returning customer's.

No, you do not tip. I had that happen to me yesterday as well. I just simply put a line through it and the write the total in so they can't add something later. I only tip if it's a sit down restaurant and someone actually waits on me.

Hell no! And I really get annoyed at all the places that put a tip jar out. They arent servers, they dont earn less than the minimum wage. I never leave tips at places like that.
