I have a cable box which only has AV/RCA out, S-Video Out, and a coaxial out. However, I recently purchased a HDTV which has VGA (15 Pin) inputs, and HDMI inputs but no AV (well it has place for Audio AV input, but not Video). Is there anyway I can perhaps go from AV/RCA out to VGA In, or S-Video out to VGA in? I know that its nearly impossible to go from those to HDMI, since its analog to digital. But would the other two options be possible? If so what should I use? And changing my cable box is out of the question, so dont suggest that.

Hello everyone

I was wondering if HD equipement (in this case, the Playstation 3) can output audio as well through the HDMI cable.

I am asking this because I wish to use the HDMI cable to output via high definition to the TV.

So just by switching the TV into "DVI" mode, would I be able to get both audio and video?

If not, how exactly would you get audio?

For example, using component cables gives you 3 video plugs and 2 audio plugs (the red and white one). You can get both video and audio through the TV.

In the case of a HDMI cable, is is just the one plug.

Anyone know?

Thank you.

On my Dish network, I have overscan on the top and bottom of the screen. I can't read scrolling news, and when on the guide, the "List: All Sub" words are barely showing. This is on TV2 of my DVR. I looked all through the Dish menu and don't see an adjustment. There is also no adjustment on my TV. Any ideas? Anyone else experienced this?

I just moved into a new apartment and I would like to have cable tv. However, the place is not "cable ready" meaning there are no cables and outlets. Now I am kinda lame when it comes to this electronic stuff. It is possible for them to install cable still, right?

I own a 26" Panasonic Viera LCD HDTV which has a contrast ratio of 3000:1. It has 720p hd capability. I love the TV, picture is gorgeous, absolutely perfect, but its only 26" and I'm moving into an apartment. I am afraid it is going to be too small for the living room. Therefore, I am planning on trying to sell this and buy a 37"; I cannot get too pricey though. So a tv I'm looking at, Olevia, has a contrast ratio of 1600:1. I did a lot of research before when I bought the panasonic, I'm okay with everything else about the TV, it also has 720p hd capability. While I know what contrast ratio actually is, I do not know how significant it is. Could anyone with a lot of knowledge on the topic let me know if 1600:1 vs. 3000:1 is a significant difference? I obviously want to still have a great picture, but I really want to upgrade to a 37". I know the picture won't be quite as good, but that's okay. I just want to know if I'll clearly see a difference and be upset. Thanks!

The main power lead to my TV has been damaged (in several places, by pet rats chewing on it!) Is there an easy way of replacing the lead myself or does it need to be done by a professional? I don't know if it involves removing the back of the TV or not.

I have a 1080p big screen, and I have an xbox 360. Most video games say only 720 and 1080i. So lets I'm playing Madden, (which isnt compadable with 1080p) is it still at least hi-def? What exactly is it showing to me? thx.
