My Plasma Flat Screen HD TV gets hot. This is probably normal, right? My question is, my daughter likes watching TV when she goes to bed and if turned off, she wakes up. Is it ok for this TV to be left on for 4-8 hours straight?

How do I lock the TV so that it can only be turned on or off by remote control. The little boy I nanny for has made turning on and off the TV a game. It is soooo annoying! I need to know that I can have at least a little control over him! Thanks!

We have an older (1995 or so) Sony TV. Recently it has been getting more vibration with bass. Today there was a power surge and boom, no sound. Is it toast?

Can anyone explain to me, in the simplest terms possible, the dog and pony show the FCC seems to be putting on regarding digital TV after February 17, 2009?
What's the deal with the converter boxes? If you subscribe to digital TV through your cable/satellite provider, whereby you have a set-top box, are you covered?
I have seen the FCC site - and it's more confusing than I thought.
I think they're just putting on a big act, if you ask me.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

And, yes, I am speaking as an analog TV owner.

It's about 7 years old now - a 27" Panasonic. It's a tube and not flat screen. It's been fine up until a few days ago - the picture suddenly goes black but I can still hear the channels. Sometimes I turn it off then back on and the picture lasts for a couple of minutes then goes out again. Sometimes the picture doesn't come back.

Luckily, I have a second TV, but it's a smaller 17". Does anyone know what's wrong with my TV? Is it that the projection tube is dying, or wires inside getting old? Or something else?

How much would it cost for a tv repair man to look at it? Or, is it just not worth it and I should just throw the TV out? - that's another ordeal, as how should it be disposed of properly?

It is not regular glass, at least I don't think so. I tried the damp soft cloth, but it seems to attract more dust.
Any suggestions?

Can I get better than RF (coaxil) quality to my HDTV since my cable box is connected to the wall with an RF cable. For example, will an s-video cable from the box to the TV make a difference? Can the quality of the RF cable from the wall to the digital box affect picture quality?

I'm thinking about buying a Samsung 56' tv. I went to Best Buy one day to look for a Samsung dlp. a salesguy said that led is bets because it adds more color and it lasts longer, but it's more expensive than the color wheel . there are other sales people from Circuit City that the color wheel is better. I need help, which of the two is better? which one lasts longer?

Hi,
Every TV has got a sharpness control under picture menu. What I do not understand is why would anybody wants to see a unclear and fussy picture on their TV by reducing sharpness?
It just bothers me,
Thanks in advance!

Hi

I have Q91 samsung model plasma screen
It wasnt too long i actually brought it and straight away watch my very fave tv channel.

The tv channel has its own tv logo on the side screen. TV0 (example ch name)

My plasma screen has left in a ghosty foot print of the tv channel in the background.. regardless i watch a different channel it show that logo channel TV0

Its just looks like it stays there all the times and havnt left away yet. its like leaving your finger marks behind until a very long time.

I try using the burn-in protector that my screen has to offer with the settings.. I use that quite alot. the print background has not left yet. It still hangs out there at the very same spot. I watch TV0 alot everynights for about 3 hours mon to friday.

I try to leave the burn-in protector a good 3 hour on.. i came back and the logo still hangs out there but it looks slightly alittle gone but not complete.
Does it mean it has left a print ther for good ?
