About a year ago my sister stuck a screwdriver in either the red yellow or white Jack in front of the tv. She said something sparked then the tv shut off. it still wont turn on. do you know what happened and what I can do to fix the tv? Help is much appreciated.

it shorted out you need a repair guy now

Each jack had a positive and negative. When she stuck the screwdriver inside, it shorted the two terminals and blew something (probably a capacitor). You would either have to have a tv repair person come in or take the tv to a repair shop.

Roughly, I would say she shorted something out and blew a fuse or tripped a breaker. If you did not lose power anywhere else, it likely is not a tripped breaker. If you can find a local repair shop the guy there may be able to find and replace an internal fuse, which might get the TV going again. It wouldn't cost much for parts, but he might charge a minimum for labor.

If there is no fuse, then something more expensive may be damaged.
