There is no one person that invented "TV". During the 1920's a lot of people worked on developing TV's. It wasn't until about 1936 that practical prebuilt TV's became available. Regular TV broadcasts began in the US on 4/30/1939. It wasn't until after the second world war that TV's became common.

As far as the (analog) TV technology that is in use today. The main contenders are "Vladimir Zworykin" based on a 1923 patent application and "Philo T. Farnsworth" based on a 1927 technology demonstration.

The earliest claim I know of for inventing TV is Paul Nipkow in 1884 for a very crude mechanical TV's. Mechanical TV systems were in vogue with inventors until the mid-1930's when in became obvious that all electronic systems were more practical.
