I live on the 4th floor of a 5 story building.

Depends upon where you live in relation to the transmitters. Basically if your window looks in the right direction (towards the Empire State Building) you will get a signal. But if you are on the opposite side of the building you will have to hope for a signal reflection off of some other building to get a signal.

I'd be really surprised if you wouldn't be OK with rabbit ears, or one of the simple Terk antennas. Multipath reflections would be the main problem. Check AntennaWeb.
