I hit a wrong button on the remote and my tv just keeps going through all the channels even when I turn it off and back on it still does it. Any ideas?

We purchased this tv on the 1st of September, and a week ago my daughter turned it off manually (as opposed to using the remote) and it never turned back on again. The screen won't come on at all. We bought the full 3 year warranty ($300!) and yet Best Buy can't get anyone here to look at it until Nov. 10th!! It took them 5 days (3 "business days" plus a weekend) to even find a service tech who works on HP's, and that company is in another state! (We are in Idaho, the company is in Oregon.)

Best Buy is not working hard enough to appease us and I'm wondering if I have any recourse or is there any way to make them satisfy me? I'm so angry that we've only had this $1800 television for 2 months and it's already down! What a piece of crap! And I doubt I will EVER purchase anything from Best Buy again!!!

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have a nursing home patient that keeps his tv very loud to hear it. Our boss took his remote away from him cuz other family members complained about it. He can not read well enough to use the closed caption. The tv is a apex brand i think, about 5 years old. Is there a way to hook up a headphone set to the tv, not the small ear buds, but the large ones? If so, is there also a way to extend the cord to reach his chair where he sits to watch tv, say about 9 feet or so? help, he misses the young and the restless and I feel sorry for him.....

Is there any websites dealing with "chipping" an NTL box for free cable. Not for me you understand (ahem) but for a friend.

I'm looking for information that could explain step-by-step procedures that would allow viewing of ALL NTL channels including the premium ones such as SKY SPORTS & SKY MOVIES.

I understand, from my friend (ahem once more), that there are such devices out there that allows for this to happen. If some kind souls out there with knowledge of these devices would let me know via this thread I, and I guess my friend (hehehe), would be very grateful!

My husband told me that we have to store his brothers Big Screen TV at our house until he gets his own place. He said it can't be stored out in the cold garage because something on it would crack or break due to the cold temps. I think it's a projection-style TV...not plasma or anything fancy. It's an older model. So, is what he says true, or is it just a line of B.S. so he can play XBox on it?

I'm actually away from my satellite receiver (at college) and got to thinking. I remeber seeing an aspect ratio option of change it 16x9 widescreen. I plan on buying a widescreen when the school year is over. Has anyone with Dish network tried this? If not and you have a widescreen tv, tell me, you have to go to menu, setting, etc

I have bought a projector lens that would project the pictures from my 21 inch TV screen to 100 inch wide. But in order for me to achieve this, i need to either turn my tv upside down, which would look stupid or put an invertor somewhere inside the TV. Is there any other easier way i can do this?

I've heard LCD TVs have this, but how loud is it supposed to be?! It's very noticeable in quieter moments of programmes. Is this just an issue you have to live with on LCDs, or is it a fault?
