I have a nursing home patient that keeps his tv very loud to hear it. Our boss took his remote away from him cuz other family members complained about it. He can not read well enough to use the closed caption. The tv is a apex brand i think, about 5 years old. Is there a way to hook up a headphone set to the tv, not the small ear buds, but the large ones? If so, is there also a way to extend the cord to reach his chair where he sits to watch tv, say about 9 feet or so? help, he misses the young and the restless and I feel sorry for him.....

There will be audio plugs and jacks on both the tv and the headphone receiver, red and white--hook 'em up accordingly, plug in the power supply for the receiver, get batteries for the headphone.

For starters what your boss did is against the law. Your boss took personal property away from a patient that has every right to have. What your boss needs to do is move the patient to another room where the noise wont bother other patients. Who cares if it bothers other family members since they are only visitors and not patients. If you were to get him head phones I think it is sony who sells wireless headphones since you dont need any loose wires laying around that can be tripped over. The headphones are the large kind and not the small plugs. From what I remember they are about 28 dlls. could be even less on ebay. could be even less now in the stores too. I had gotten some for my husband because I hate listening to soccor about 6 years back but my son has borrowed them now for the past 2 years thats why i m not sure of the brand. I got them at the swap meet. But first i would check out the possibility of getting his room changed and if not see if his family will get him the wireless headphones. I would also make a note to your boss without your name of course pointing out the fact that its against the law to take things from patients. Especially when it is affecting him like it is.
