In most cases like yours, it could just be the power supply inside your tv. Easy fix for a repairman, and pretty cheap too.

If it were the picture tube, there would be sound. Hence the name "picture tube"

You would still have sound if it were just the picture tube. Sounds more serious.

check the fuse in the wall plug

make sure there isn't a reset button that needs to be pushed before you call the repairman.

A fuse maybe. Look in manual you got when you purchased it.
