I have a 2-year old TV that has a glitch. When turned on the screen stays black, but the volume works. After being left on for 30-seconds to a couple minutes the screen turns on and the TV works fine. My wife wants me to get rid of it and buy new, but we aren't the Rockafellars.

Does anyone know if this is a cheap repair job, or is it going to be as costly as a new TV to fix it?

I wanna have a projector that I can use it for watching TV at home, doing presentation on a meeting and access with my computer and enjoy the large screen while browsing on the net. And want to do all of these WIRELESSLY.What should be the min. resulation and contrast for a clear view with a projector? I am thinking about Optoma's one model with 5000:1 contrast ratio. Also, I wonder if I can get rid of the antenna cables? I mean is there anyway that I can find a way to transmit the antenna signals to the projector?

I am going to throw this crap off my balcony. I have Cox 15mbps Cable internet and a Netgear wireless/4 port router..I'm not sure which is the problem but they stop occasionally..say..several times per day..and I unplug the power to both router and modem for a few minutes and they come back on..then later..they stop again. I dont want to call Cox because they'll just tell me it's not the modem. Any advice?

I am looking to buy a HD TV and I am not sure if I should buy an LCD or Plasma. I am thinking about a 40" TV and I am looking for good clarity. I have been looking at an LCD TV Samsung LNS4041D.

Can anyone give me some advice on what to buy. I am planning to buy on Black Friday if possible.

Thanks

The TV in question is a Magnavox 27" tube. When watching any video signal through the 2 component inputs, there appears to be fast-moving, flickering horizontal lines moving up and down the screen. I don't notice it as much on the RF input.

Is this a normal part of interlaced tube televisions (i.e., flicker), or do you think there is something wrong with the set? Thanks.

It turns itself on and off at random and the volume goes quiet and full blast. Even in the middle of the night when everyone's asleep. It's now sitting unplugged in the living room.

Do you still have to pay a TV License even if you want to use it just to watch pre-taped videos and DVD's ? And can you block the BBC channels so you don't watch it and have to pay the TV license ?
