I am looking to buy a HD TV and I am not sure if I should buy an LCD or Plasma. I am thinking about a 40" TV and I am looking for good clarity. I have been looking at an LCD TV Samsung LNS4041D.

Can anyone give me some advice on what to buy. I am planning to buy on Black Friday if possible.

Thanks

Dean

The winds are going LCD for many reasons. Sony won't even make Plasmas anymore, and there not dumb. No burn in, no dislpay problems, longer trouble free 60,000 hr life or greater,, Go LCD.

Well the main difference between the plasma and an LCD is that a plasma has deeper colors, while a LCD helps reduce glare. At the size you are buying either one will be fine. Plasmas are also slightly thinner. If you decide to go with plasma Pioneer is a good brand. Personally I like plasmas better. We just got one in our house a few days ago!

Plasmas are better than LCDs. If money is not an issue, then go for a Pioneer Elite plasma. If it is, there is actually a tube TV with the same quality as the best plasmas, but it weighs about 300 lbs. (I forgot what it's called.)
The problem with LCDs is that the lightbulbs in them burn out over time and have to be replaced.

As the market trend goes, Plasma going to phase out very soon and replace with LCD. I was told by an engineer from Sharp corp. It is best go for LCD instead of Plasma for better future maintainance support. I personally prefers LCD.

one thing to consider too, lcd tvs don't get burn in, while plasma tvs can. Can you imagine spending thousands on a plasma and then having an image burned permanently in the screen

your best bet would be to pick the lcd tv because it hase the better clarity and if you want to get the best out of it make sure you buy monster cable for it. the best one is the hdmi audio vidio cable. the plasmas are more but the lcds are better

You'll get the best bang for you buck by going with a CRT rear projection model. That's just my own preferance though.
