1) Don't buy something you can't buy in one sitting. If you buy with cash (ALL OF IT in cash), you won't only be getting a better deal (add it up: if you pay $30/month for 36 months, it sounds like a great deal...until you realize you're paying for 150% of the product), but the seller may give you a discount because s/he KNOWS you are going to buy.

2) You can get the normal channels with it. If you get satellite, you can get up to 180 channels.

3) If you can't afford it, you don't need it.

It's different in each area. On average, it's about 10 to 15 dollars more per month and you get about 10 HD channels. If you have premium channels like HBO/Showtime then you get the High Definition feed for those channels as well. Go To:
http://www.comcastcableoffers.com
Enter in your street address and zip code, then it will tell you what is available in your area.

HD is only $5.00 more through Comcast. You can get HD shows on all the local channels: ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS, and FOX. Of course if you subscribe to any premium channels you'll get those in HD also. How many channels you get depends on your area, and what channels are avail. to you. You'll have to call Comcast to find out.
