I am going to throw this crap off my balcony. I have Cox 15mbps Cable internet and a Netgear wireless/4 port router..I'm not sure which is the problem but they stop occasionally..say..several times per day..and I unplug the power to both router and modem for a few minutes and they come back on..then later..they stop again. I dont want to call Cox because they'll just tell me it's not the modem. Any advice?

Hi i used to work for Comcast so i am gonna tell u to call customer support. The thing is are u unplugging the router as well? What kind of splitter are u using in ur home? It should be a 2gig gold one they are the best. How many outlets do u have cable and internet in ur home? U may need an amp where the drop comes into the home. Still even it could be the modem or it could be something up on the pole that needs replacing such as the filter outside. Just call em thats why u pay so much money.

Sounds like your signal out at the cable box outside isn't getting a very strong signal. I believe it should be 100 mbps. Tell Cox cable that they suck just that (Cox! LOL)and to get out there and fix it out at the box. Cox cable is really adept at ripping off their customers. You could have a bad modem. If you rent yours from them, return it and make them give you a new one. Good luck.
