I just hooked up cable to this TV: tv:http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?sku_id=0926INGFS10086210&catid=23242&PCName=tv%5F200%5F499&logon=&langid=EN

Some channels i have are pretty clear, and others are unwatchable. How do i get perfect reception on all the channels? I got a different TV in the same house that has perfect reception so i know its not because of bad weather or anything like that.

I am trying to find a new HDTV but I don't know anything about them. I have a budget of around $500. Should I get LCD or CRT? A friend of mine says CRT cause LCD does not have as good of a picture when watching DVDs. Should I get a normal or widescreen TV. Will a widescreen TV make satalite TV small? Will it make Games small? I am looking for the best picture quality and size for my budget. Please help me! I am completly lost!

Just got a HDTV.
Have not upgraded to HDTV cable yet through my cable company, but I'm wondering if I'll get HD just by using the HDMI cable. Will just the HDMI cable make the picture better? I believe it's a 720p. 42" SANYO.

If HDMI will make it better, where else do I plug in the cord besides the TV? I see a place on the TV, but not on the cable box.

OR do I have to have the new cable box from the cable company?

Do I need the new cable box AND the HDMI cord to get a better picture?

As you can tell, I'm a bit confused! I'm not very high tech, so if you can help me out, be as simple as possible with your answer.

THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!!!

1. What are the ideal settings for this tv? (brightness, saturation, etc.)

2. I used the auto-tune/search feature of the tv and it only came up with 2 channels, one of which is my cable box (plugged in via coaxial). This TV has a tuner and I'm trying to figure out how to use the tuner and still be able to get on demand and operate my cable box with that remote instead of just hooking up the TV directly to the wall via coaxial.

Anyone have any tips?
(I'm getting the HD box hooked up via component soon if possible, so this is temporary but still)

3. This TV has 1 HDMI port, 1 S-Video port, 1 Component connection, 1 coaxial connection, and 1 Composite RCA connection.

Based on that, how would you suggest hooking up a Comcast HDTV box, an Xbox 360 (which does have an HDMI port), and possibly an DVD/HD-DVD player (probably not but a posibility)?

The type of answer I'm looking for is something like "Cable box through ___

Thanks!

I currently subscribe to Time Warner Cable's basic cable. I was planning on buying an HDTV and wondering if it was necessary to upgrade to HD service to get my HDTV to work the best.

OK, I understand they have air time to fill, but do they honestly think viewers enjoy people's faces stretched wide? Why don't they just broadcast it in it's original 4:3 format?

What is the refresh rate of a plasma screen compared to lcd sceeen and when i compare the specs between the two such as contrast ratio, does it compare equaly - ie if plasma is 5000 - 1 does that mean a lcd would have to be 5000 - 1 to be as good? Just my brain ticking over again as I am looking to buy the best i can get for my money!

I don't have an HDTV and my PS3 outputs an not so great picture. I basically can see lines and its hard to read the words (ie team names in FIFA during gameplay)

Is this normal since I don't have an HDTV?

I accidentally put a magnet spot on my mom's tv with my fish aquarium magnet cleaner thing. It is pretty large, the size of a grapefruit, it is green and VERY noticable. And BTW, I told my mom about it, I am not trying to remove the evidnece, I am trying to fix the tv. And we have 0 money, so we can't hire anyone to do it.

Need a tv/monitor for my PS3 that is under 25" and natively supports 1080p. I don't need one that accepts a 1080p signal and then scales to the lower monitor resolution.
Thanks.

Need to move a big screen TV from a 3rd floor apartment (down the stairs) to a different building - 3rd floor apartment (up the stairs).

It's a 51" TV, huge...any suggestions on how this can be done without disaster?

I am considering taking my sony plasma to London when I move there next month. I know the signals and power supplies are different but am curious whether the hdmi signal is standard so that I can use the hdmi output from a sky reciever (is there a hdmi output?) and bypass the NTSC - PAL, ATSC - DVB issues. Also, I know a step down transformer can be used to adjust the voltage, but will the 50hz frequency cause problems? Finally, how bad are the results if I use a NTSC - PAL converter?
