Expensive cables will make no difference. You really need to get a source of HD.

See if you can hook up an antenna to that TV and have it scan for free HD channels. Type your address into Antennaweb to see if you can use an indoor antenna. A good one is the 'Phillips Silver Sensor" for about $30

You have a problem caused by the fact you are recieving an ANALOG signal using the Component cables.....and worse is the fact that it's a 480 line TV signal and not a 1080 line HD signal....

And you're sitting TOO CLOSE to it.....

60 inch TV.....YOU should be sitting about 15 feet away from it. THAT smooths the picture out pretty well.

Getting HD provides a 1920 x 1080 signal, compared to a 640x480 signal....
That's 2 Megapixels of information compared to 0.3 Megapixels of info....

NOW you know why it looks so bad ! Look at the numbers....

So what can you do with what you have?

Buy a $30 to $60 HDMI cable....THEN get HD when you can afford it....

For now, step back from the TV set and the further you step back , the smoother the TV will look....your eyes are an amazing creation that can blend rough edges given enough distance.....
