What is the refresh rate of a plasma screen compared to lcd sceeen and when i compare the specs between the two such as contrast ratio, does it compare equaly - ie if plasma is 5000 - 1 does that mean a lcd would have to be 5000 - 1 to be as good? Just my brain ticking over again as I am looking to buy the best i can get for my money!

Plasma have no issue with refresh rate and their contrast ratio is much higher than LCDs (10,000:1 vs 1,600:1).
They also use 10 or more bits per pixel vs 8-bits for most LCDs. So, if you don't plan to play games, buy a plasma.
