OK, I understand they have air time to fill, but do they honestly think viewers enjoy people's faces stretched wide? Why don't they just broadcast it in it's original 4:3 format?

You might want to check you TV to see if it's set to automatically stretch a 4:3 aspect image to widescreen 16:9. Sometimes that's just something the TV was defaulted to. You can then reset the image to 4:3.

I have noticed that as well...I was told by my boss they are supposed to go totally HD by the beginning of Jan. We will see, I also see USA, and The Food Network doing it as well. Hopefully its soon because your right, noone wants to see peoples faces stretched out
