I don't have an HDTV and my PS3 outputs an not so great picture. I basically can see lines and its hard to read the words (ie team names in FIFA during gameplay)

Is this normal since I don't have an HDTV?

This shouldn't happen. You need to check your settings. Go to the settings on the bar and go down to Display Settings. From here click Video Output Settings. Now choose which hookup you got going from your ps3 to your tv. After that, it should bring up whether you want to set the output manually or automatic (it did with mine, but i have an HDTV with HDMI hookup). I put mine on automatic. If this doesn't help, try restoring your PS3 settings. This is under the System settings. If this doesn't work, than try restoring your PS3 system. This will completley wipeout everything and restore everything like it was when you got it out of the box. If none of that works, call Sonys warrant and helpline.

there are probable HD variations of your interior sight broadcast channels on the cable already -- they're only no longer being handed interior the path of the cable container. you are going to be valuable this via disconnecting the cable from the container and attaching it directly to the television. Then run a channel test on your HDTV and notice what channels you get. you will have some "sparkling QAM" channels, which could have weird and wonderful channel numbers like 80 5-a million, etc. this is not likely the non-broadcast channels would be cutting-edge in HD. you need to have the flexibility to hook up a splitter or 2-way video swap to alter between the container and the sparkling QAM channels.

Does your TV have SVideo inputs? This can give a 20% better picture over the single yellow composite cable.
