Digital cable still doesn't get you digital picture but only sound. I reccomend converting to a TiVo becasue they have mostly every channel HD, cable companies are lagging on the HD channels so you get limited channels, satelllite is a bit exensive, fiber optic companies like verizon and at&t are on the rise and is 10 bucks a month including HD channels HBO,etc.

I prefer At&T or Verizon because cable companies rip you off with their increasing prices all the time and crappy service.

HDTV+HD programming=HD
i also suggest getting a sound system it doesn't even have to be expensive i use a Bravia dvd home theater 5.1 surround and is pretty cheap unless you want some high end like bose well thats on you.

I hate the t.v.'s speakers so i suggest to get some tips from cnet.com google hdtv cnet and it helps a lot thats where i got my tips good luck

For digital cable to work, you need a digital reciever from the cable company. I have not been impressed with the cable here, for with digital, the picture is distorted to lengthen what is on the screen, and the sound seems to be much lower than with normal broadcasts...but that my just be time warner's problem. For true HDTV, unfortunatley, you need the Dish...and that price is far too high for what you get!

The only way to get an HD picture is to have an HD source. Subscribe with your cable company for HD service.

You need to get Digital cable.
It will be even more clear when you get HD programming.

Analog TV on HDTVs looks terrible.
