Hi i have took my xbox downstairs onto my 42 inch samsung HDTV the only problem's are

1.I plug it into the hd component slot and it does not auto switch over

2.The T.V Support Up To 1080i But my xbox will not switch over

(it should auto switch over because my telewest and dvd player auto switch's over)

(the xbox stays on 420p, but will not switch over to 720p or 1080i or 1080p)

It has to be atleast 10 year old. i have a freeview box connected to it, but when on the av channel the picture goes blank and the only way to get it back is to fiddle about with the scart connection. i have tried a new scart cable and the same thing happens. is there any way of fixing this or do i just dump it and get a new one?

What I mean is if I have a high-end high-definition TV (like a Pioneer Elite), can I still view VHS and laserdisc movies on it without the picture looking horrible?

Are HD TV's only good with HD media (like Blu-Ray) or do HD TV's work well with older video playback technology? Would I be better off to just keep my tube TV for VHS, laserdisc, and DVD and use an HD TV for Blu-Ray?

I'm thinking about buying a 50" Samsung DLP Projection TV and I'm just wondering how regular cable looks on the tv? I also have a tivo. So I'm just curious if anyone has a rear Projection TV with tivo and cable. I dont plan on getting HD cable for some time. Thank-you

I just purchased a new Magnavox 37 inch LCD TV. The image is awesome and the size is amazing but white light bleeds from the corners whenever the screen goes black or when the image is really dark. Did I buy a deffective TV or is this normal on all LCD TVs?

I've been having problems with my cable boxes lately. some of the channels are now really fuzzy. the neighbors on the right of my house have had their satellites for years, but the neighbors on the left of my house just got two satellites for their home. I was wondering if all the satellite signals around my home could be messing with my cable reception? I only ask because their are a lot of fuzzy channels but not all of them, mostly the lower channels below 70

We just set up our new Samsung LCD Tv with our digital cable box and it seems that not all of our old channels are showing. It seems almost as if we are only getting "basic" cable channels (MTV, ESPN, Comedy Central, etc.) but not the next step up (ESPN2, Discovery Health, etc.) We are paying for the full package and had them on our old tv, but why is this one not showing them?

Basically, I'm trying to decide if HDTV is worth the money or not. In 2008 will everyone need converters for "old" tv's or will cable be ok? I don't want to have to replace all of my tv's yet if I won't have to! Thanks!

We just bought a Samsung LCD TV and we are trying to hook it up with our Comcast Digital Cable box. First we have to pick Air, Cable, or Air + Cable....then after that we got to a part where we have to pick what kind of "cable system" we have and the options are STD, HRC, and IRC....and now we are stuck. Comcast is closed on Sunday's, so that's why we're on here. Any experts?

If we have the money, which we do.
It is a Hitachi UltraVision 55" Rear-Projection LCD HDTV and the reviews seem good plus 0% financing til 2010.
Am I an idiot for not getting this TV since we want an HDTV?
