im not gonna rag on either but I have a 50 inch smasung plasma. the picture is equal if not better than the same size lcd. It was also cheaper than comparable lcds. But you do have to watch what brand you buy. If you get plasma get a samsung, LG, panasonic or pioneer. Those are best pictures i've seen. Burn in isn't really an issue with new plasmas(as long as you don't leave a static image on for more than a few days.

There is nothing wrong with plasma, and many prefer the brighter, more vivid colors and better black levels that plasma affords. Burn-in is a problem only if you watch a lot of 4:3 material that is not stretched to fill the screen, or spend hours with a fixed image from a video game. However, the sets have improved greatly in that area and it is no longer considered a severe issue.
You should look at the sets and decide based on what looks best to you.

There's nothing wrong with plasma. Like any other types of tv it has its advantages and disadvantages. Plasma is susceptible to burn in and glare but that's about it. The picture quality on Plasma is superb especially the contrast ratio and color. I wouldn't even recommend that LCD. Get a brand name lcd like Samsung,Panasonic,Sharp,Sony,...--You'll be glad you did in the long run.

Some plasma t.v.s have aful picture quality and some are very good. You just have to go to circuit city, brandsmart, or best buy to look at the differing brands and pick the one that you like best. and never buy one online/ sight-unseen!!!!!!!!
