I purchased an HD ready tv this year and ordered the HD package with DTV along with the proper dish. I've got the HDMI cable. I've tried monster cables gold plated cables...blah blah blah and the picture is no better than what i get on regular tv...And before you jump the gun, I know that it has to be HD prgramming to get that picture.

Basically:
1) Remote works, sensors dont
2) I want to get it onto AV
3) I need tips on fixing it

I am getting my TV fixed and I think they are ripping me off. The cable jack broke off with a tiny little piece of the green circuit board attached to it. They said they had to replace the tuner and they are waiting on a price for that.

I am doing a study on the angles of basketball shots and I was wondering if cable, satellite, and internet TV all have the same number of frames per second. Are the games filmed at the same frame rate they are shown and if not is there any way to get access to the faster video?

Also, is there any way to get recordings of the entire 63 game NCAA basketball tournament after it is played? Either ordering something like a DVD or downloading it. If I tried recording the live games myself I'm sure I would miss one and then have to wait until next year to have an entire tournament.

My husband and I are looking to buy a big screen TV. However, we are both lost when it comes to all the TV talk. HDTV, DLP,LCD, Projection, and Plasma. I will be connecting my new tv to regular cable not digital. How will this effect the picture quality--and which would give me the best picture with a regular non digital cable? Any other helpful information will be greatly appreciated---thank you so much to all who reply!!!! :)

I would think they look better on a 720p. Wouldn't they look very zoomed out and hence uglier on 1080p?
I have about 400 dvd's and am considering buying a 32" LCD or 42" plasma.

Im in the market for a new tv. Im looking for something between 50-60" maybe even bigger. But i dont wont to spend over 1500 dollars..Im really lost about all the tv talk. HDTV, LCD, PROJECTION, DLP, PLASMA....I will probably only use regular cable but will use alot of DVDs and games. Do i need HD cable for these tv's? What will the picture look like if i dont? What is the best set-up for low mantiance and long life? I know projection needs a light bulb replaced every few years. I really just dont know alot about the new stuff out..Im also not able to have dish..Please explain all the tech talk and what would be the best set-up for my usage. Thanks

I just bought a new 50" plasma HDTV and was told that I should definitely have a powercenter for it. We bought it (at 300.00) and I haven't heard of anyone else needing one and I can't find anything online that says I do...so is it really necessary to have it? I know it helps protect it from power outages and makes the picture and sound better, but would it be smart for me to return it and take the risk of not having it?

Why are small appliances not built to last, anymore? It seems they are made cheaper then ever before. It almost like you don't want to buy something with all the bells and whistles on it because it's just more parts that could break. Also, it seems that as soon as the limited warranty is over, so is the appliance. It's almost like they have it timed just right. Any comments????

I live in a block of flats and although the signal quality and strength is good enough for normal Sky it will not work for Sky HD (according to the Sky engineers). Since I do not have access to the dish, does anybody know of anything that can be bought to boosts the signal?

Many thanks.
