I live in a block of flats and although the signal quality and strength is good enough for normal Sky it will not work for Sky HD (according to the Sky engineers). Since I do not have access to the dish, does anybody know of anything that can be bought to boosts the signal?

Many thanks.

The only things that could improve the signal would be a higher gain LNB (low noise blockconvertor - the gizmo that sits at the focus of the dish) or a bigger dish. The LNB amplifies the signal and converts it to a lower frequency to send to the digibox. If there were a way of boosting the signal after it left the LNB, any interference and noise would also be amplified. You need to approach your landlord/local authority/dish owner and get them to install the necessary equipment. Hope this helps.

The Sky Engineers should have really told you what you need to boost the signals, a bunch of incompetent fools they are. Using my logic you would need to boost the gain ie increase power to pick up signals, if you go to electrical shops they should have gain boosting devices, alternatively they can fit a powerful dish at reasonable costs. good luck mate.

I wonder if the cable from the dish feeding the flats is up to scratch, sometimes it can be cheap and tends to attenuate (reduce) the signal especially in long runs.
