We just set up our new Samsung LCD Tv with our digital cable box and it seems that not all of our old channels are showing. It seems almost as if we are only getting "basic" cable channels (MTV, ESPN, Comedy Central, etc.) but not the next step up (ESPN2, Discovery Health, etc.) We are paying for the full package and had them on our old tv, but why is this one not showing them?

We have the same company and everything, we just replaced tv's so I'm not sure why this is happening.

It almost sounds as though you may have an extra RF port out on the cable box. You will find this in sitautions where you would set it up so you can record one channel while watching another. It also sounds like your TV may be switched to antenna mode instead of STD cable. Go through your settings and you may find modes antenna, HRC, IRC, and STD. Choose STD and see if that works. IF so, check to make sure that you have wired up correctly the box to the TV. You may have multiple output from the box that can feed a VCR and a TV spearately.

there could be several reasons for this. The first reason is maybe the channel set up on the new tv needs to be programmed for the channels. If you were getting the channels through uhf on the old tv then maybe you have it hooked up incorrect. If you use a cable box or vcr, then you probably have something set incorrect or have messed up the wires.I would suggest that you contact the cable company and see what they have you subscribed to if none of these are the problem.

You probably have to manually program these channels in. They probably are experiencing a low signal which the TV will block out. Have Fun.

Um... Okay, I'll answer. Maybe it's because you've changed companies? Who was your Cable company before you switched? Maybe you might find the answer. Or maybe it's because you're getting ripped-off. Eithere way, you must come to your own conclusion before you find any real answers.
Good Luck.

Call the cable company tech support. You pay them good money, you deserve free help from them.

You probably have to program your TV to all the channels.... Go into menu and click on program. It should be automatic and then you won't need to worry anymore... Hope that works!
