I want to be able to record daily, over and over again, erasing once I've seen the shows, without having to buy DVD discs that can't be rerecorded over and over again nor do I want to pay a monthly fee. I want to be able to record like on video tapes without managing multiple video tapes. Is there any TV recorder that does that? If so, what should I be buying?

I thought it would be so easy. the maual that came with said it is just for audio and video devices a camcorder is perfect for that! is it possible that the port isnt active yet even though i think its supposed is there somethig wrong im doing? i just thought whatever i had on the tv it would be on the lcd on the camera. or maybe its only to transfer video to the dvr from the camera?

I don't want to have to subscribe to a service. Is there a product I can buy that works like Tvoe? I would be happy just to record TV programs. Does a DVR recorder do a function like this?
