It's seems it'll work from my online research, but the guy at circuit city was sure that it doesn't work without the subscription. I just need the basic manual record option, not the channel guides, etc.

I bought it for £1 from a Jumble sale, it works okay,I can record via A/V from freeview box, and plays back okay. But I cannot set time, and cannot tune channels in. I bought instruction manual from an internet site, but can't find a remote control for it, at a reasonable price.

I know it records shows for you and stuff, but do you have to pay a monthly fee? if so how much? Or do you just have to buy the tivo and that's it? Any information you can give me would be appreciated, I'm thinking of getting it as a Christmas Present for my family. Thanks!

I live in Downey, Ca. (southern california). I am planning to get basic Digital Cable. No DVR or Hi-Def. receivers. Just basic digital receivers. No Extra channels, packages, or tiers (only sports).
Can someone who has something similar to this tell me all you fees and charges.
And what is your total bill?
thanks for your time

I have Tivo plus desktop and a SanDisk Sansa e260. I am trying to put a tv show that I transfered on to my computer, on to my Sansa. However, I can's get the file to convert to something recognizable. I have transfered the file from Tivo as a MP4 with no luck and I have used the included file converter softeware that came with my Sansa with no luck. Any suggestions?

I have comcast digital cable and I am suscribed to all the basic, expanded, digital classic, digital plus, and HBO premium channels. I recently upgraded to the high def DVR box, and moved the old cable box into my bedroom. So now my living room has the DVR box, and my bedroom has the basic digital box which used to be in my living room. Each cable is split from the one cable jack that we have in the living room. For a few days the bedroom cable was working fine, but now I don't get the expanded channels(29-73) or the HBO channels(300-312). I tried unplugging and restarting the bedroom cable box but I still can't get the channels. It only says "Suscription Service...for ordering info press INFO..." and that's it. Comcast customer service is clueless, so I was hoping somebody here might have an idea what is going on. Why was I getting the channels a couple days ago, but not anymore? And remember, my living room DVR box does still get all the correct channels.

Thanks.
