According to the manual, it should support those formats. There have been many reports of compatibility issues, burning issues and other design flaws with this particular model. People complain how they can't burn with major brands like TDK, Verbatim and Fuji. This is disturbing because these are major brands.

I would strongly recommend you return your DVD player and buy a name brand DVD player. Cyberhome is considered to be a brand-x in the industry. In most cases, you get what you pay for, when it comes with DVD players. I bought a cheap $10 Coby DVD player and it doesn't read my burned DVD's. Stick my burned DVD's in any name-brand DVD player, it works. Cheaper brands tend to not do thorough testing in manufacturing and do not meet industry specs.
