i found a tivo with no remote and i want to know how does it work and how i can get a remote for it, plz help

As far as how it works, it's basically a computer in a box. It has a motherboard, power supply and hard drive. Tivos start at 40GB hard drives and go up in increments of 40GB.

It will record all your programs, store them on a hard drive, much like what a VCR does with VHS tapes. The magic of Tivo is really the service, rather than the hardware. The service subscription allows you to subscribe to season passes, find shows by keyword, category, genre and it allows you to store 40+ hours of shows depending on the hard drive size. What's nice about storing on a hard drive, you can delete and record without affecting video quality.
