I have a Samsung DVD-VR330 and I am using Memorex DVD RW discs to record on. When I play them back on the original recorder they play but if I try to play them on another DVD player in the house they are not recognised. Please help.

Did you finalize the disc? Most non-recorders will not playback a disc until this is done. Your recorder can play it back because it knows how to handle its own uncomplete file structure.

As was said above another issue could be +/- incompatibility. If your recorder is recording onto + discs and your other player can only playback - discs then you are out of luck. Luckily, most recorders will record onto - discs and most players will read them.

you have to finalize the disc to be able to play it on a different player.

The reason is the they are not progressive scan capatable.
Had the same problem. Try playing on a unit that has progressive scan.
