all the time? can i hook up a dvd player to it and press record on the dvr? It would be so cool to have alot of my dvds in the dvr then i wouldnt have to get the dvd, clean it its so annoying I know I can transfer dvds to my sony digital 8 camcorder could i transfer the dvds from the camcorder to the dvr via usb or firewire? i have both of those ports on my dvr.

your DVR only holds forty hours of recordings so it better to get one of those DVD players that have 5 DVD slots
