TiVO & DVRs

i'm a time warner cable subscriber and i'm on like my 5TH DVR cable box and i want to know why dont they last longer than a month thru regular every day use? its a scientific atlanta explorer 8300.

I have the 3 red.white and yellow connection plug. hooked to front of input3 tv and out put3 vcr. Cant record still . any sugestion, no I dont have the book . Thanks.

i just bought a dvb - t tuner for my laptop, ive just installed it an was excited about being able to watch and record tv on here, but when i scan for the channels nothing comes up. Is it because the signal isnt strong enough? if so what the hell can i do to make it work?? its really frustrating! grrr!

I've chosen to "erase all titles" when I've watched what I wanted to, + now the discs are showing as "unrecordable". I'm using DVD+RW discs as recommended by nice young man in Asda.Be gentle with me, please!

Right now I have my basic cable line running into it and I get the 82 something, basic channels and Im able to use the Window’s MCE to DVR my shows.

My question is: Can I send a line into the card using the Dish Network or any other satellite broadcast?

I can't find any info regarding this. Im thinking no. The satellite receiver is the decoder for the signal from the dish, where the card could not do the trick in decoding

Anyone know FOR SURE?

I want to copy VHS tapes to DVD using my Magnavox DVD recorder and VCR. I am not trying to pirate; I just want to preserve my VHS tapes before they deteriorate. Many of my VHS tapes are Macrovision protected and when I try to copy them I get a blue screen. I have my VCR hooked up to my DVD recorder and TV. I know there are Video Stabilizers on the market that are designed to disable Macrovision but I want to build my own if that's possible.

I have a DVR dvd recorder. I have only a few discs and have used them all up. One of my discs is a DVD-RW. I want to know how to make this writable agian, for every time I upload it onto my computer, I have to finalize it, and cannot record on this disc again, even with the DVD-RW. Do I need a special DVR?

I have a DVR and I want to watch a show thats on tonight at 9 and I want to record a show on at 9 on another chanel so that i dont miss it. but when i set up a show to record and its time for it to record it says "must change channel to record program if you do not change channel program will not record" but I dont want to watch the show im recording because i want to watch the other show thats on at that time. This just started doing this last week. Anybody know how to fix it? Thanks!

i have a video that is fed from sat box
in rf then it comes out to booster rf
all so a scart output to projector when i turn on video the projector works fine but tvs bad signal
when i turn vidio off the projector is off and tvs ok
can you get fr to av convertors
i know you can get av to rf
