vcr, picked up a magnavox 4 head.Plays great sounds good , but dont know how to record.?

I have the 3 red.white and yellow connection plug. hooked to front of input3 tv and out put3 vcr. Cant record still . any sugestion, no I dont have the book . Thanks.

The usual approach is: cable (antenna or set-top)--> VCR --> to TV
