Or an old VHS.

Say I was watching a programme after the analogue gets switched off and everything becomes digital. What would happen if I tried to record the show I was watching on an old video recorder.

I have these two spare speakers that I have lying around, in the back they have the normal red/black speaker wire clamp inputs. I was hoping to be able to hook them up to a CD player which only has a headphone output, anyone know of where I can buy the speaker wires -> headphone jack?

Thanks

When my new 3.5 bar water pump starts up, it makes a shocking clonking noise. It is well anchored but I'm afraid of medium/long term damage to both pump and pipework.

What is the correct way to get this pump to start up gently? I am looking for a simple solution that I can make at home with a soldering iron and the right component(s). If you can help me solve this, it's at least a bottle of champage for you (if you're in the UK -- otherwise something equally rewarding but easier to ship!).

fyi, the pump uses single-phase AC and is rated at under a kW.

TIA and all that good stuff if you can help.

When the interviewer asks if I have any questions what could I say? I always get stumped because usually they tell me everything I pretty much need to know.

Hey,
If you've seen Stranger Than Fiction, then you know that the main character's watch is an important element of the story. I think it is really cool, and wanted to know if anyone knew a site, or a store where I could find a watch like the one in the movie.

Thanks!

I mean, there are other strong names like Sony, Philips, Panasonic, etc, but why are Pioneer products so good? I've never heard many negative things about their products. Does anyone have a theory or reason? I've had many of their products and they all have been very reliable versus some other names I've had like Philips and they had problems.

I'm thinking of purchasing one of the "newest" designs in a long list of these portable(on wheels) type AC / heater.
These look very similar to large dehumidifiers.
They have many more choices available now , and the prices have come down too since they first came into stores.
These all have to be vented out of a window with a "kit" that is included. They use a 4 inch flexible dryer hose. They now range in BTU output from 7,000 to 14,000!All digital controls and of course a remote control !! lol
And yet they are so efficient they still run on 120 volts and draw about 10-12 Amps.
I need the large (14K) for my application. They are $550.
I have no problem spending that amount if these perform as
promised. Sooooo......finally my question> does anyone have one of these ? Are you satisfied with it? What brand did you choose? Thanks!! Sorry for being a little lengthy !
