Help me out please!!!?

I just bought a blackberry pearl and i have ONE signal bar!!!! So i basically cant use the phone without dropping a call. PLEASE help me ... is there a device i could buy for this phone that will help with this issue?

This may be related more to the service provider you have (say Verizon or Cingular) than your phone .
Do you see a low signal everywhere you go?
Was your old phone better? Did you use the same service provider?
