The same thing happened with the old war between VHS and Betamax. Hollywood chose VHS over Sonys Betamax. Today Sony owns pretty much all of Hollywood so they aren´t very likely to loose this war. But the war isn´t entirely over. Now there is a new game in town. And that is... games. Sonys BluRay equipped PS3 isn´t selling too good (Sony is even laying off people). Since videogames are an industry that surpasses the movieindustry the winner this time around will be the dvd system that is chosen by the gaming industry.

Seems to me that the movie industry will be like the Video game industry. There will continue to be three formats. The current regular DVD, ND DVD and Blu Ray. The average consumer isn't willing to pay $25 to $30 for the extra clarity . Only Electronics Freaks care about that kind of Detail .

HD-DVD is over but that don't mean that Blu-Ray is going to stay.with the high cost of Blu-Ray it also can fail.

If this is not a money issue, I'd definitely go with Blu-Ray but its like 3x as much as HD, and if it was a money issue i'd go with Blu-Ray. I don't think Blu-Ray has won it is just now forcing consumers to spend more
