I use to be able to use the 'sound recorder' thing you get on most computers, (you find it when you go to all programs, accessories, and then entertainment) to record sound that you listen to from the computer, like the internet, like songs and stuff... But the other day I bought a new webcam... And when I try to use the sound recorder now, it either records sounds that are not from the computer, (like someone talking, like me) or nothing... I can't get it to record stuff off the computer anymore. I know there's a way I can get it back... But I don't know the way lol... I tried unplugging the webcam, but that doesn't change anything. I know it has something to do with the webcam... Or maybe it doesn't... Does anyone know how to fix the sound recorder or change it so it goes back to what it was doing before? (recording sounds off the computer)

I realize I can use a clamp meter. . . but they say I have to check it seperate from the neutral wire, I can only do that right at the box, or seperate the wire? I want to check how much is going throuigh a line when I am up in the attic crawling around, all the insulation and what not, causes all wires to set off the little voltage detector, so I want to be able to read how much is in there. Is there a clamp meter that can do this?

I have recently bought a PlayStation 3 (Europe Model) and i also own a HD TV (Philips). I have connected these two together with the HDMI cable and have a perfect picture however there is no sound.

I have followed the PS3 instructions on how to make the HDMI cable work with both sound and picture, but the same error message re-apears:

"This HDMI device cannot be used for audio output"

I've tryed changing HDMI cables twice and the same message apears again.

Please, anyone with any ideas or infomation on this problem, i would love your help very much.

When I buy a movie from iTunes on my computer, and do my usual download process of attatching my ipod to my computer through the wire, the movie never turns up on the actual iPod! I can watch the movie on my computer with out a single problem, but I can't find the movie section/movie!!

p.s. every time the download is completed, I check to make sure that it says "Safe to remove iPod', which it says everytime!!

p.p.s is it possible that i cant watch movies on my actual iPod? or am i just doing somthing wrong. Please help!!!

I recently purchased a welder that requires a plug and outlet w/ 220v. I purchased a 250v/ 20amp plug and outlet and installed it into my garage where there used to be a standard 125v 20amp outlet. Nothing happened. Can I install a 250v outlet where there used to be a 125v outlet?

I have a radio that has 280W total output power. I have ten speakers hooked to it. When it gets to a certian volume on all the hard bass notes the radio clicks and the bass note is not heard. Is there any suggestions to rectify this issue i.e wire all the speakers in parallel or in series or make sure the polarity matches. Please note all the speaker sizes varies. Some speakers are small and some are decent size.

I recently moved from Japan to New Zealand. I have one transformer that I bought in New Zealand so that I can use Japanese appliances. Is there some simple way (such as adding a resister) that I can use my Japanese appliances in New zealand. Japan uses 120v, New Zealand uses 220 to 240v I believe. The different wall plugs are no problem. What can I do to my appliances-such as a rice cooker- so that I can use them here.

Hi,

I am really angry. I was foolish and have bought a £5 data cable for my X640. I follow the instructions to the end and it says it installs. Afterwards, it says the software requires you to restart your computer for it to work. I do this and when i open up Device Manager, there is a little yellow exclamation mark next to COM 8! I open up properties and it says

'This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)'

I cant see how this works. It said it was installed and it used the drivers that came with the cable! I carry on and install EasyStudio PIMS & File Manager and i select COM 8 and it does not work. The i chose every number port and number sequence. It STILL stays offline. I am really losing myself here! Can anyone please enlighten my and tell me why this is happening. I have tried every port and uninstalled and reinstalled and the same thing happpens :-(
