listen to the things on Windows Media Player the sound comes out fine. I can't even hear anything when I plug my headphones into my hard drive (this is when I'm online), but when I'm on WMP w/ my headphones the sound comes out fine (in my headphones). Actually now that I'm looking at my sound settings under the control panel it, my speakers only work when they are on 5.1 surround speakers and they are not surround speakers, they are the speakers that came with the computer when I bought it about a year and a half ago. They are sitting on the sides of the monitor. Does any one have any clue whats going on or how I can fix this?

I have an older ProScan TV with clip-type connections for speaker wires in back. When I hook up my speakers to them I get very low volume. These are home stereo speakers, although small, but my suspicion is that the TV is not pushing enough power to drive them properly. Is there a device, or method of combining devices, that would act as an in-line pre-amp to boost the signal strength to the speakers? Keep in mind that it would have to accomodate speaker wire connections on both the "in" and "out" sides. If I was working with RCA connections it would be easier I suppose, but that's not the case here. Any help will be appreciated.

Its about $285 for a mechanical/accidental 2 year warranty. I know i wont break or drop it myself. As for mechanical, stuff doesnt go wrong with it until after 2 years. So is the warranty a rip off?

We have multiple people using a single soundboard in our church. They continue to manipulate the gain knobs and puts a "tingy" sound into the output sound. What exactly does this do and how can I explain it to them to keep their hands off?

I bought a DVD player and it was great for a month. We watched 2 or 3 movies a week or so. Now, suddenly, it has bad pictures: no sound, blocks of the picture instead of a picture, running lines, freezing up all the time... What's going on?

It is amazing what a simple change of name can make people think. NTL had made steady improvements until most of it's service were reliable before it changed it's name.
NTL bought Virgin Mobile, Richard Branson got lots of NTL shares in the deal, and NTL/Telewest wanted a better reputatiion. I admire
their apirations though.
