so i want the phone samsung sgh-830 but the thing is its not for sprint
i dont know much about this but if i get a unlocked phone can i do something so i could use it for sprint?

ebay is the LAST place i'd buy a phone!
there are so many scams with phones on ebay.
many don't exist, many are stolen and can't be unlocked, many are cheap ASIAN knockoffs that don't work.
save your money and get one from a REAL phone provider.
if you insist on buying from ebay, pay through PAYPAL and fund it with a CREDIT CARD!
that is the only way to buy on ebay. it offers you the ability to file for a CHARGEBACK with the CC provider should anything go wrong and ebay and PAYPAL can't get your money back from a shady seller.

If it was a used Nokia phone I could tell you how to unlock it. You will have to try and get a Sprint compatible phone. Also, if you are in the US, look up the Pocket or Cricket Cell phone companies. They have the best plans out now, unlimited minutes and no contract. If one in your area check them out. Then you might want to change your mind about the sprint phone.
