fax is short for facsimile. do you need an explanation of what a fax is? (sadly I've heard of some people who do NOT know) Well, just in case: a fax machine takes a piece of paper you feed into it, makes a copy of whatever is on it & then sends the image through phone lines to the destination (phone #) you designated it to go to. It then comes out on the other end looking exactly as it does to you. It's like attaching a photo to an email & sending it to someone.
