I'm old and technologically challenged. My husband mentioned an MP3 or IPOD for Christmas. We don't need hours of memory or that extensive of a play list. Also, I don't know how to download music for either of the two. I know I sound like an idiot, but I really appreciate your help!

I have an iBook G4, OSX 10.4.8 and the latest version of iTunes. My iPod can hold so many songs and my library was getting huge and using up alot of memory. So, I had to move my library to a cd-rom (many, actually) to free up the space. Now my library contains none of the songs that are already on my iPod. I have since purchased new songs and would like to put them onto on my iPod, but I am afraid that when I connect it to my mac for updating, I'll come away with only the new songs and lose the 1,000 or so songs I have. Is there a way to add the new songs without losing the old ones? What do I do? Thank you so much for your help and I really appreciate it! All the best!

the thing is, if I buy a cd, then take it back to a shop, (if not needed), they always ask if I,ve played it.

I have been thinking about getting and apple mini ipod but when I checked them out on ebay I saw many that were in need of repair. Should I reconsider? I want something that will not cost me a bunch in repairs after purchase.
