Imagine that, you could slip into your brain a simple memory stick and upgrade your headware by plugging your USBrain into an internet connection.

People, I was thinking more of a add-on use (or plug-in) not a brain replacement. Something you could use to listen to music, watch videos, keep your work, CV, contacts, maybe up to date emails, etc. Good answers so far.

ghost in the shell, anybody?

"ghost in the shell:stand alone complex" does an excellent job of explaining the ideas and mysteries behind this concept. it's to the point where people have completely prosthetic mechanical bodies, with their brains simply inserted into the body. (ghost = soul, shell = body.) then, the internet is completely wireless, and everyone is able to go online within their own minds, and can communicate in real time via the internet through their minds. there are even people who develop "closed shell syndrome" because they love the internet so much, they mentally lock themselves into the net and refuse to acknowledge their bodies or the outside world.

you should check it out if that interests you.
