They are MP3 players. You "rip" a cd track to a compressed music file called an MP3 using a computer. You then use Apple software (on a PC or Macintosh) to load the iPod with the MP3's. iPods hold large amounts of data, effectively letting you have your entire music collection with you in a very small package.
The iPod nano is $150 and comes in many fun colors. The more expensive models hold more data than your kids will probably use.

The IPod is a music playing device you can get in any Apple store in most large malls. They cost roughtly $150-$250, and suit well as an MP3 player in their own right, as well as having terrific sound quality. You can buy a single IPod for one, or one for each of your daughters, since the IPod is, in effect, an MP3 player, and you can download the majority of music free to your IPod from several online sites... just type in (name of the song) and then MP3 in the search engine.

They are the same thing. With IPod you are essentially paying for the name. I would look at
http://www.pcmag.com/category2/0,1874,2359,00.asp
and
http://pcworld.com/article/id,125648-page,1-c,mp3players/article.html
and
http://reviews.cnet.com/Music/2001-6450_7-0.html?tag=ont.mp3
for reviews before deciding what to buy. You really need to know what the girls will be using it for. Flash memory is different from a hard drive in that you can drop flash much more often and still have it work. No I am not advocating dropping mp3 players;)
There are other considerations like color (I paid more for my zen nano plus because it was pink),
amount of memory (flash can go up to 8 GB while hard drive can go up to 60 or so?),
availability of extras (I lost my case for my zen nano and cannot pick one up in Walmart like you can an IPod Nano case)
Just some considerations, Good luck!!!

i would say that you really need to get into the game.
an ipod would probably be fine for your older daughter, but an mp3 player other than an ipod (with less storage capacity) woulod be good fopr your younger daughter
an ipod (in my opinion) is an overrated piece of electronic trash- but it carries out the same functions as a mp3 player (non- ipod for all intensive purposes)- just to play digital music

Whoa. at the beginning, top has no longer something to do with age. An eleven 12 months previous is nowhere close to the actual or emotional adulthood of a 14 12 months previous. maximum male eleven 12 months olds have not reached puberty yet. this may well be a project that would desire to of course be perceived as sexual abuse, no be counted how plenty the eleven 12 months previous would look consenting. In a be conscious, definite, it is undesirable. and you will desire to get as a techniques removed from this occasion as available previously you finally end up with a juvenile intercourse criminal label you heavily isn't waiting to be rid of.
