Yes, you can upload your own movies without buying them off iTunes. All you have to get is an iPod DVD converter. Check this one out and see if this helps.

I dont think that will work, you'll probably have to buy them on itunes.

Yes you can, you just need to get a video converter to convert your videos to MP4s, and then you're set. =)
