I have a 5.1 channel home theater system, all the 6 channel jacks are connected to speakers of 3 ohms each. I have 4 old speakers from a previous system. two main speakers are 6 ohms each and the other two satellite speakers are 16 ohms each. and to top it all my home theater system does not have a line out jack at the back. How do I go about wiring these 4 speakers to my existing system?

The house I just moved in to has a room prewired for home theater. When I remove the face plates, there are four wires at each location (red, black, blue, and green). How do I connect my speakers when I only have red and black inputs on each of them? Do I just ignore the blue and green? Thanks in advance for any assistance you may be able to provide. It is greatly appreciated.

I have the STB connected to the VCR through Composite Cables (Red, White, Yellow), and the VCR to the TV the same way. Can I record an watch HD programs? I know it won't be true high-def, just downconverted, but I've heard that it looks a lot cleaner than standard-definition recordings. Am I right? Will this work? Thanks!

My wife just bought me a Harman Kardon stereo receiver.Model HK 3380. I am complete newbie and need help in buying speakers for it. It says it's a 2X80W stereo receiver. Their website has the following details : Continuous Average Power (FTC) Per Channel : 80 Watts per channel, 20Hz – 20kHz @ <0.07% THD, both channels driven into 8 ohms
100 Watts per channel, 20Hz – 20kHz @ <0.2% THD, both channels driven into 4 ohms . What kind of speaker I should buy ? I am connecting TV, Dish , DVD and computer. Mostly use it for watching TV and movies. Please help ?

I like a lot of R&B with heavy, yet sharp bass... These are fantastic speakers and I would like to get the most out of them without damaging them with a substandard receiver.

We recently received some used sound system equipment to use with our karaoke system. i.e. Mixing board, amplifier, wireless mic's, etc. Now that we have the full system we're not exactly sure how to hook it all up. Is there someone with a "general" sound system schematic that would help with this?

My parents plan to buy a large (probably 42in-50in) tv. We are looking at a few different models, right now. HD is a must, because my dad loves it, and I need it for gaming.

front and rear speakers are polk rm2350. center is klipsch sc1 and surround speakers are klipsch ss1. sub cable is from preout sub and have tried cable to lfe R and with splitter to L & R on sub. Switched cable and made sure directional flow correct. Unplugged system and tried auto set up again. reset reciever to factory spec. no good. read the manual 10 times. Am a novice and not very tech inclined. Hooked a polk 10" sub and it worked, took the cable off and set the klipsch in its place and it worked. Cut it all off and went to bed and no bass when I got up the next morning. Hooked up a klh 12" will not read that. I'm about to the point of dropping it all and buying a $200 boxed system (not really) I have a mitsubishi 52725 52"Hd with only a coaxial digital to the reciever and a Dish HD DVR hoked with HDMI to the tv and Optical to the reciever. My email is houstonstuckey@yahoo.com and I really need some guidance on what it could be besides my lack of functioning brain tissue. THANKS
