I want to know why it's not possible (or a good idea) to plug mutiple speakers to a power amplifier? I understood the signals may be split, but someone told me this can blow or overload the amp, and I want to know why?

How do I install an HDMI wall plate for a connection directly into the wall? What is the benefit of this versus just having an HDMI cable into a regular wall outlet? Are all HDMI cables created equal? Will I only need one HDMI cable for a dvd, tivo, and cable box?

I have a new plasma and am looking into the xbox 360 hd-dvd player. Will the movies have the black wide-screen bars on them? I know basically every HDTV is in 16:9 so will the movie be that way also.

I read that alot of Power Amplifier (PA) has 8 Ohms circuitry. And that supports well for 2 speakers. Then when you add 2 more, it drives the amplifier to work harder because it reduce down to 4 ohm which is dangerous for most PA. Why is that?

Textbook has that producing bass note requires more energy than high frequency musical notes (e.g. singer level). Some subwoofer need a new electrical circuit to run. What's the theory behind that? Why isn't higher frequency speaker need more eletrcial power instead?

i bought a speaker set for good deal
but no receiver...
first, what is a receiver?
are there receivers that already has CD/Tape stuff intact,
or do i have to go buy those separately?

for extra points!
***
the speakers that i bought have two wires; one black and one red...
is there any way i can turn those into conventional input/output
plugs? In other words, is there a way i can make the end of the two wires look like that of a conventional head/earphones?

I am thinking of buying a Bose 3-2-1 System; however, a couple of friends suggested that I ask Yahoo! Answers to see if anyone knew of a better system for a better price...I don't mind paying for the 3-2-1 but if anyone knows of a better system that is less expensive and just plain better than the Bose 3-2-1 I am open to reccomendations. Thanks!

When I watch a dvd and have seleceted no subtitles in the options it works fine until it changes to the next layer half way through the movie. It then begins to show subtitles again. this really bugs the hell out of me. and spoils the movie.
Reading the manual does not give any help on this
