Yes!! Scart carries RGB and composite, Component is better than either of these. You will still need an audio lead to the tv though, unless you have a cinema amp!

A scart plug is a compact connector that incorporates most video/audio signals, so it transmits the composite signals anyway in the same way that the separate leads do (Video Audio L/R).

The main advantage with scart is that the video signal (If the equipment supports it) can send the separate Red, Green and Blue video signals (The same colours that a TV set creates to produce an image) giving a better picture.

Most new equipment supports the RGB format, but if it doesn't then composite inputs may be better providing they are nice thick leads. All the cables in a scart cable run side by side, so they are small cables and there's 21 cables in that one lead, this could lead to interference. The separate, thicker leads may provide better resistance to any interference, but you loose the handy controls that scart has like the TV automatically switching over to the correct channel when you turn a piece of equipment on.

Try both of them and decide yourself which is best - probably the best way!
