Yes, you will need a voltage transformer to convert the 220v from the wall to 110v for your TV. Also you will need a multiregion VHS player to be able to watch PAL Broadcast. One thing is for sure is that your electricity bill suffer.

Sort of. The US televisions utilize NTSC video format, where the UK (and most of Europe) use PAL. You will need to purchase an NTSC/PAL video converter. Whatever television you purchase, be certain it is dual-voltage capable, that way all you need is the plug converter versus a full transformer.

You can get the plugs at nearly any electronics shop. The video converters can be purchased online or at electronics stores as well. Expect to pay ~$100 for a decent one. Also, if you are going to purchase an HDTV, ensure that the video converter supports the higher scan rates.

Good Luck!

yes u can but u will have to get a transormer because the voltage is different and u will have to get a ntsc to pal converter both of which can be purchased off ebay. another thing is american t.v.`s don`t use scart sockets so u will be limited as to wot u can connect to the tv. i`d say it`s not worth the hassle

I agree with big h - buy one in the US. British TV uses a different system from the US so it probably won't work where you are anyway.

no you can't unfortunately all televisions sold in the USA work on the NTSC system while here in the UK we're using the Pal broadcasting standard which is more stable, hence they call NTSC "never the same colour" lol also you would face the voltage difference, mains here in the UK is 220/240, while in the US its 110v for the majority of electrical items.
