I recently bought a Canon DV40. I took some footage (scenes) on my dvd camcorder. I put a DVD-RW in the camcorder, then instead of VR, I selected Video. Is there anyway I can delete the scenes i took or get it on the comp and then delete it that way? I have Roxio MyDVD for Canon, and i tried deleting it that way and i think it just deletes the video from the program, and not from the dvd itself.

Any help would be greatly appeciated!

Hi! I just finished my degree and I want to buy a video camera (DV) in order to make short films and possibly become a freelance camerawoman. The thing is, I'm not quite sure which camera to buy. It would have to be a second hand one as I only have a budget of £800-900.
Could someone give me some reviews, tips, names of places where they sell second hand ones (apart from eBay), recommendations on which make to get and which model, etc...
Many thanks!

I'm looking for a decent camcorder preferebly under $100.I would go up a little higher, but not to much. It would be my first one, and I'm not to technical and I need all the help I can get. I don't understand any of the reviews I'm reading at all! I have a 7 month old and I want to start recording all his "firsts". I don't need anything amazing. Just something good that really works. All you techies out there-can you help?

I am transferring my videos from Canon Z60 mini DV camcorder using FIREWIRE 1394 port and Windows Movie Maker. When I watch the same video by connecting the camcorder directly to TV via AV port, the quality of videos is very good. But when I transfer the videos to my PC, using firewire port and windows movie maker, I just receive a resolution of 320x240 pixels. This is very poor resolution. Is their any other form of transferring the Videos from mini DV cassettes to PC, keeping the QUALITY of the videos? Will using any other professional Video software while transferring will help? Do somebody know which FORMAT windows movie maker save the video in? Is is MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 for anyother format?

Is there such thing as a videocamcorder that records right to a disk? If so, what kind of disk and what will it play in (DVD player, computer, etc.) Also, does anyone have any suggestions of models if there is such a thing, ideas on price, etc? Thanks!
