Okay. Well, my iPod nano broke recently, and I signed up on a site to recieve a free one, or another gift of my choice. Well, the site is xpango.com. you can get all sorts of gifts by earning credits, which you get by having friends sign up (1 credit each) or completing offers (4-7 credits). I need about thirteen credits
to get the iPod nano. The good thing about this site is that you can get free gifts without buying anything. My birthday is tueasday, yes, september 11th. And my parents can't afford an iPod for me. I'll be turning 14. Please? PLEASE. If you want to sign up, go to xpango.com. Use the referral ID 90055440 . It's in a box at the bottom. If you don't activate the account by checking your email, it's no use. You can also ask your friends to sign up. A few of mine have. One even got his free iPod! Go get yours, and please help me get mine.. =( My birthday wish.

... a "do it yourself" project? Don't they realize there is the potential for severe electrical shock if the capacitor that charges the flash is discharged? I'll bet a dollar to a donut that every Owner's Manual has a WARNING! about this. Yet time after time someone says "Open it up and try to fix it."

The room in my apt. comes with wall outlets that do not have a ground hole in them. I saw something at WalMart that converts them into outlets with grounds. It is just something that plugs into the 2-prong and you plug the grounded device into that.

I was wondering if it would be safe if I am going to be using a grounded surge protector with this converter. Will the ground actually be functional? If not, is this unsafe?

Our condo unit has 6 smoke detectors throughout. When smoke in one condo (from cooking or fireplace) sets off smoke detector in one unit, all other units go off. The detectors are connected to the ceiling and have a battery. When the battery is low, it emits a beeping sound. When I have replaced the battery, there are wires that come from the ceiling that are plugged alongside the battery. That leads me to believe the smoke detector was hardwired with a battery backup. Now condo assoc. is saying the smoke detectors must be electrically connected with one another mandated by the fire dept. and that we will be charged $40 for the replacement of our individual smoke detector. My question is, what is the difference in what I have now and something they say will be electrically connected when all of our alarms go off at the same time now. They say it is in case the electricity goes off. But isn't that what the battery backup is for? Thanks.

I want to make a FM receiver to operate in the ranges of television audio, but I'm not sure if it is even possible to listen to television that way. My objective here is to be able to watch tv with the sound turned down while listening through headphones on the receiver. I don't have a headphone jack on my television so if you can think of any other way I'd like to hear it. Plus I've already built an ear amplifier but that really wasn't what I was going for. By the way, I ordered samples of the MAX2607 (150-300MHz), the MAX2608 (300-500MHz), and MAX2609 (500-650MHz).

I'm looking for a whole new set up, except for the record player, for under $800. I have looked at Onkyo's Home Theater systems (sr600 and sr800) but I have yet to hear of the quality of sound for playing vinyl. Home theater systems may be easier but I am not opposed to a separate receiver and speakers.

I listen to mostly records but I also frequently listen to my iPod and sometimes CD's and movies. Also if it is of any help, I listen to mostly folk and indie rock.

Any suggestions??

I have several multi-voltage (12/24) power supplies, for phones, PDA etc, and I would like to know what type of circuitry is used to regulate the output voltage. Given that the 24 volt input can vary from 19 to 26volts how does it regulate the output to 5 volts or whatever? How does it determine the input volts in the first place?

In one of my classes I chose the topic of faulty xbox 360s with the red ring of death as a research project. Best answer to whoever gives the most useful advice on links to significant information or the best idea on how Microsoft should solve the problem.

I picked up an old fashion 3M overhead projector at an auction. I would like to show some of my old family photos on the wall with it at a family reunion as well as some old childhood drawings on construction paper that are done with crayon. Can you tell me how to run this machine so it shows up on a wall. Thanks!!

Sony... 1 year but HAVE TO HAVE A RECIEPT and chronic overheating problems on PS2 thin and others and chronic battery problem on PSP

Microsoft extends warranty to 3 years at large cost and takes fixes machines based on serial number not receipt.

With this expensive toy breaking so frequently I will go with the company that fixes it's stuff rather than saying " no tickie, no laundry"
