I had my water bottle in my purse and all 27oz. spilled all over, it got my wallet , my digital camera, along with everything else wet. My camera won't turn on and the screen seems to have liquid in it. Is it over or can I save it??

Leave it out in the sun.

Your camera is now a paperweight.

Enjoy shopping for its replacement since repairs (if its even possible to repair) will likely cost more than a new camera.

Never, never "open up" a camera. Look at your Owner's Manual and somewhere in it you will see a lightening bolt icon over or beside the word WARNING! Do not attempt to repair camera yourself. Severe electrical shock may result.

This possible severe shock is from the capacitor that powers the flash on your camera. While unlikely to be fatal it can be painful.

It may be too late since you tried to turn it on. Try this and remember it for next time. BEFORE you try to turn on an electronic device that has gotten wet. Remove batteries and let it dry for a few days. A nice sunny window seal is a good place. Then try it.

Cigaro ,do not place your digicam in an airing cabinet, eliminate the sd card or compact flash card and permit to dry at room temp.3 days would be sufficient time ,then turn on the digicam without CARD interior the digicam and take some photos ,the cardboard could act as a circuit and short out the works .i be attentive to this from own training.

You can try opening the camera up and allowing it to dry. If that does not work and the camera cost more than a few hundred dollars, there are repair shops that may be able to help. Your camera may also be covered by a warrenty which could include water damage.

I would take out the battery and memory card, place in a zip lock bag with those little packets of desiccant (to keep moisture out). Wait a couple of days to see if that helps.

Hey
the same thing just happened to me. I just read that if you put it in a box of rice for 12 hours it will draw out all the moisture.
I have mine in the rice right now. will let you know how it worked.
oh yeah i pulled out the batteries & mem card.
